The Modern BathroomCreating a modern bathroom can be as simple or elaborate as you want to make it. Depending on your budget and tastes, you may choose a complete overhaul -- a new tub or shower, an updated vanity, new faucets, maybe even a new floor. Or you may simply want to change your sink and shower curtain. Either way, giving your bathroom a new modern look will take a little time, research and knowledge. Bathrooms are one of the most unique rooms in a home. They can be purely functional and practical or lavish and luxurious. It can be the smallest room of the house or as large as your bedroom. Whether we like it or not, a great deal of our time is spent in the bathroom. We visit it a few times a day. It’s likely one of the first rooms you see in the morning and the last you see before going to sleep (other than your bedroom, of course!). We prepare for the day and unwind at the day’s end -- all in the bathroom. For this reason, I think it’s smart to make the bathroom personal. Let the colors you use define who you are. Make it a room you’ll enjoy spending time in. Make it a retreat. It’s a private room (most of the time), so make it a place you can walk into, lock the door, and relax. There are a number of things to consider when updating, remodeling or designing your bathroom. Will the bathtub be ceramic, fiberglass or tiled? Will I have a glass door or a shower curtain? Not to mention the cost of all these things! Shop around a little bit. Find out the general price range of some of things you’re looking to purchase.
